Big changes has come! The international competition Young Package is changing its name, the rules and announcing a new theme.

After 22 years of existence the legendary competition of packaging design “Young Package” has completely changed. Besides from the new name “Model Young Package” we have also tripled the prize money for the winners. The Organisers has also opened the upper age limit in the university category and therefore designers of any age can register into the competition. The theme of the 23rd year of the competition is Coffee mania.


Model Young Package has still two categories. Into the first category can register students of high schools and colleges. Into the second category can register students of universities and designers of any age. Newly for the winner there awaits all together over 6000 EUR.

 

THEME

Just as the previous years the competition motivates designers from all over the world to create ecological package. This time the designers will create packaging that will react to the all present phenomenon of coffee. Thanks to the theme Coffee mania the Organizators call out creators to design packaging not only for coffee as it is but also for everything that belongs to it. This year could win dessert plates, cups, saucers, coffee sets but also for example packaging for a favorite product with the theme of coffee that appears in the graphic design. Treat yourself to a coffee party with a responsible design.

 

ECOLOGICAL ASPECT

As usual the jury will judge the competitive artwork anonymously. Even this year has the chance to win such paper packaging which perfectly protects the object, is easily reopenable, has good graphic design and also ideally is easy to produce. The Chairman of the jury remains to be the leading Czech packaging designer Jan Činčera who is part of the competition since 1996.

 

Competitors can register using the online registration form on the website young-package.com and then send their artwork by post to the Organiser’s address (CZECHDESIGN, Vojtěšská 3, Praha 1, 110 00). The deadline for sending the competitive artwork is 14th of May 2018.
